Inspired

At the very last minute yesterday my brother called me and asked me if I wanted to go to the game with him and see the Astros play the Reds. I always like going to the game with my brother. He pays for the tickets and parking and I pay to feed and water us. It's always fun.

When we got to the game, I realized that I had wanted to see Hillary's speech at the National Convention and that I had forgotten to record it. I was really bummed out about it.

So, the first thing I did when I got home was turn on my tv so I could at least hear what the pundits had to say. And just as I turned on the tele, Hillary Clinton was approaching the podium in her orang pant suit to begin her speech. How serendipitous was that? I caught her speech. I cheered and clapped when she said "No way, No how, No McCain".

I was so inspired by her speech. I have grown so fond of her over this year and I can truly understand why her supporters have had so much difficulty letting go.

I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Ok, so that's the wrong title. It's a song by Andrea Bocelli. The song is also known as Time To Say Good Bye. Not the literal translation; actually the opposite.

Ok, so depending on your position, you may decide that the Italian version applies. For this post, in my opinion, it's "Time To Say Goodbye".

As my many loyal fans and lurkers know I was 100% behind Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nomination. She has earned a lot of my respect. That being said, I have accepted the fact that she lost to Obama; and now I'm 100% behind Obama. As a matter of fact, I'm very ready for a brand new approach. I love listening to him talk and I find I'm constantly looking for stuff over the net about him.

As you also know, I've been listening to the pundits on T.V. My favorite passtime these days. (I really do love listening to these guys.) I don't know if they are interpreting Ms. Clinton accurately, or not, but I have to agree with one point: It's over. She needs to tell her followers that it's over and that we need to back Obama. I think the Obama would make a huge mistake if he puts her on his ticket. I don't think it would be a dream ticket.

I know that the McCain camp is hinting at putting Carly Fiorina on his ticket but I think that is to push Obama into putting Hillary on his. It is quite possible that by putting Hillary on his ticket he could actually lose conservative swing voters.

So, Ms. Clinton won Pennsylvania. I'm really very proud of her. I like to go to CNN.com and let the videos play while I'm working on papers and stuff so I've been listening to a lot of her interviews and stuff. She's really growing on me.

The idea that we can have a woman as President of the U.S. just really really rocks.

Go Hillary, Go Hillary! Shake that booty! :)

Racial Controversy and Barack Obama

I've been reading about the racial controversy that seems to be surfacing around Barack Obama lately. I would like to point out that though my support is for Hillary, I think very highly of Barack. I see past his race. I have even had my clients who are African American tell me that I'm color blind.

But lately, because of the issues that are surfacing, his race is being thrown in my face. And interestingly enough, it isn't being thrown in my face by white people.

What most people don't realize is that African Americans make up roughly 13% of this nation's popularity. So it is quite evident that Barack's support goes well beyond that of his own race.

His campaign will be ruined if the racial card is played. I'll be damned if I'm accused of being racist just because I don't support him. And that's where I see this heading. If Obama doesn't win the primaries, will there be rioting in the streets? Will this mean that we have to hear Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton go on and on about how unfair this country is to the black man?

And if he does win, will African Americans suddenly believe that they are entitled to something more?

I heard Michelle Obama's speech where she stated that America was ignorant. I had a roommate in college that was African American. She and I had absolutely nothing in common with one another. I tried on numerous occasions to get to know her but that effort was not reciprocated. She would have her friends come over and I would be completely isolated; most of the time I could not understand what they were saying to one another. Segregation in this case was not forced; it was just natural. She hung out with her friends, I hung out with mine.

I have often discovered, even in my field, that there is oftentimes a racial connection between the real estate agent and his/her client. Is this forced or is it natural?

It is very unfortunate that the Democrats are stuck in this stagnant situation but I don't think that either of them should have to "blink first". Why? Hillary has donated 5 million of her own money in her campaign. What should be her reason to surrender first? And why should Obama surrender first?

I think this stagnation in their running is why this is surfacing in the first place. Had Obama won the primaries outright he would be moving onto the next thing.

I think that that which occurs whenever anything becomes stagnant will occur here. Slime and ick and all that stuff begins to surface and grow. So the question becomes, who's going to become the ickiest first?

I voted

Well, I did it. I voted in the Primaries. First time ever for me. And I voted for Hillary, a Democrat. My father is rolling in his grave, I just know it.

It's Decidedly So

I have given it a lot of thought and I feel very comfortable with my decision to vote for Hillary. Both in the primaries and in the big election.

I think this is our only shot at getting a woman in the White House. That isn't the only reason I'm voting for her. I honestly do not think that either McCain or Huckabee have the charisma to win an election for President. I'm tired of the Republican way of doing things.

I think that Hillary has a lot of experience and she has an extremely intelligent man at her side who understands people. I like Obama but I just don't think he has the experience.

So, I'm really excited about voting in the Primaries becuase I've never done it before. I never would have thought that when I did actually get around to doing it that it would be Democratic Primaries. Interesting how times and people change.
