What does McCain have up his sleeve?

So, today they announce that Palin is behaving like a rogue. Why would they allow such a story to leak to the press? The only thing I can think of is that McCain is about to switch the ticket. Romney perhaps?

I'm telling you, there is no way they are going to allow Palin that close to the role of presidency.

I think they are going to switch the ticket and they are setting her up for the fall.

Here's the story:

Can he switch the ticket? Can he fire her?

the McCain camp has been sending mixed signals since it's inception... Sarah Palin can't even keep up with John McCain's constant political wavering

Apparently it has happened before. I think my sister was telling me about it. However, the candidate that made the switch did not win the election.

They can switch but I don't think that is what is happening. I think McCain feels he is going to loose and is setting Palin up to take the blame if he does.

A switch this late in the game and with his past behavior of wavering would work against him and hopefully he has realized that.

He isn't someone who likes to take responsibility. Whenever he makes a mistake he needs someone to point a finger at and that is what Palin is going to do for him.

It's amazing. He picked her as his VP after only meeting her once. If it didn't work, it's his own fault, that's for sure.

I will be stunned, and I do mean stunned, if McCain wins this election.

He would lose more than his base if he switched now. He would reinforce the view that he is erratic, angry, and really more of a loose canon than a "maverick." Especially after saying time and again that he stands by his choice of the Pain as his running mate. He has time and again said she is qualified to be Pres if something happens to him, that she is smart (if this is true, she has yet to show it), that he vetted her...it would be a real loser for him.

Yeah, I think y'all are right. He won't drop her from the ticket. It would definitely do more harm than good to do so.
